When you register for an account, an affiliate account is automatically created for you with:
- Unique Affiliate Code: An 8-character code (e.g., ABC123XY) that uniquely identifies you
- Commission Rate: Set to 20% by default on all credit purchases

Referral Tracking Process
Step 1: Visitor Clicks Your Link
When someone clicks your affiliate link, the system:
- Stores your affiliate code in a cookie for 30 days
- Creates a "pending" referral record tracking their IP address, browser, and referrer URL
- This counts as a "click" in your dashboard statistics
Step 2: Visitor Registers
If the visitor creates an account within 30 days:
- The referral is linked to the new user account
- Status changes from "pending" to "registered"
- This counts as a "signup" in your dashboard
Step 3: First Purchase (Conversion)
When the referred user makes their first credit purchase:
- Referral status changes to "converted"
- A commission record is automatically created with status "approved"
- Commission = Purchase Amount × 20%
- This counts as a "conversion" in your dashboard
Ongoing Commissions
The best part: You earn commissions on all future purchases made by referred users, not just the first one!
Every time a referred user purchases credits, a new commission is automatically created at 20% of the purchase amount.

Referral Statuses

Technical Details
Cookie Duration
Your affiliate code is stored in a cookie for 30 days. This means:
- If someone clicks your link and visits the site multiple times within 30 days, they're still tracked as your referral
- If they register within 30 days of clicking, they'll be linked to your affiliate account
- After 30 days without action, the cookie expires and the referral won't be tracked
Commission Processing
Commissions are processed automatically via Stripe webhooks:
- Referred user completes a credit purchase
- Stripe sends a webhook notification to our system
- System checks if the user was referred by an active affiliate
- Commission is automatically created with "approved" status
- Affiliate statistics are updated in real-time
Payout Process
Payouts are processed manually by administrators:
- Commissions start with "approved" status after purchase
- Administrators review and process payouts monthly
- Once paid, commission status changes to "paid"
- Your "Paid Out" total reflects all completed payouts
